Description
The dovecote at Kirstead Hall is an 18th-century structure with a 17th-century brick base. It is made of brick and features a tiled roof, designed in an octagonal shape. The eastern face has a 20th-century door and doorway, complete with a fanlight above, set under a segmental arch. There are windows with slats on the west and southwest faces, also under segmental arches. A moulded drip course runs below the eaves, and the brickwork above this was restored around 1980. The top of the dovecote is octagonal and louvred, topped with a glass-fibre ogee cap that is coloured to imitate lead. Inside, there are nest boxes on three faces, and the roof timbers date to around 1980. This dovecote is included for its group value.
