Description
Mill House is a former mill house dating from the early 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of rendered and colourwashed brick and features pantiled roofs. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, which were extended by one bay around 1960. The entrance has a simple doorcase with reeded pilasters flanking a panelled front door. The windows are sash style, with glazing bars present only in the upper sashes. An elaborate moulded brick cornice adorns the top of the structure, and it has a steep-pitched roof that originally included a central axial stack. At the rear, there is an early 19th-century two-storey long extension, which retains some original casement windows with horizontal glazing bars and a saw-tooth cornice. Inside, there is a barrel-vaulted passage through the stack and an 18th-century fire-surround.
