Description
Old Farmhouse is a late 16th century to early 17th century house located on Norwich Road in Tacolneston. It features a plastered timber-frame construction set on a brick plinth, with steep tiled roofs and gabled ends. The west end has a brick section with a corbelled gable parapet and a moulded chimney stack that includes two octagonal flues. The house is L-shaped in plan and has a two-storey structure with an attic, featuring attic windows in the gable ends. The southeast wing has a similar external chimney stack on its east side. The windows include 18th century mullion and transom casements, some of which have leaded panes, while the southeast wing showcases 17th century ovolo moulded mullion windows. At the rear, there is a one-storey and attic wing that is also plastered timber-frame, with a tiled roof and gabled end, along with an external brick chimney stack.
