Description

This manor house, originally listed as "Manor Farmhouse," dates to the late 16th and early 17th centuries. It is a timber-frame structure with plastered walls, and brick end walls. The south end has a stepped gable and an internal chimney stack. The roof is steep, tiled, with gabled ends, and incorporates one gabled dormer. The building is two storeys high with an attic. The front elevation has three, four, and five-light hollow-chamfered mullion windows, some with transoms; the ground floor windows have moulded cills. An old boarded door is located on the left-hand side, and a tiled pent roof covers the ground floor. The rear of the house also features similar hollow-chamfered mullion windows. Internal brick chimney stacks are present at each end of the house, and one is located off-centre. A later, plastered timber-frame wing, extending from the north-west side, also has a gable-ended tile roof and modern casement windows.
