Description
No. 12 Lyndhurst, formerly known as Nos. 12 and 14 Bridewell Street, is a pair of houses that have been combined into one. It dates from the early 17th century and is likely timber-framed, now covered with a colourwashed brick exterior. The building has a pantiled roof and consists of two storeys plus a dormer attic.
The front features two panelled doors, each set under hoods supported by consoles; the door on the right is from the 20th century, while the left door dates to the late 18th century. There are two 3-light casement windows from the 19th century, with one located between the doors. The first floor has three similar windows, two of which have two lights. The gabled roof includes a central gabled dormer fitted with a casement window. At the rear, there are horned sash windows, and the roof features three gabled dormers with 20th-century details.
