Description
No. 14 Bridewell Street is a house from the early 17th century, originally known as Nos. 12 and 14 Bridewell Street. It features a rendered and whitewashed timber-frame construction with a pantiled roof and stands two storeys tall. The building likely has an underbuilt jetty. A glazed door is positioned to the right, framed by a simple doorcase with a hood. To the left, there is a three-light casement window from the 17th century that has been altered. On the first floor, there is an early 19th-century three-light casement window. The roof is gabled, and there is an internal gable-end stack on the east side. The rear of the house includes a flint addition, a stack, and 20th-century details. Inside, there is a disused winder staircase located south of the stack, along with chamfered and tongue-stopped bridging beams and thin scantling principal studs.
