Description
No. 7 Bridewell Street is a shop that dates back to the early 17th century. It features a timber-framed structure that is plastered and colourwashed, with a finish that mimics ashlar stone. The roof is made of red and black glazed pantiles and the building has two storeys plus a dormer attic. The shop front, which is from the 20th century, has a central door. On the first floor, there are two sash windows with glazing bars. The gabled roof includes a 20th-century gabled dormer with a three-light casement window. Inside, there is a winder staircase located to the north of the stack, along with chamfered and tongue-stopped bridging beams. The roof structure consists of two tiers of purlins, with the lower tier staggered and the upper tier clasped by cambered collars.
