Description
Nos 11 and 12 Market Hill, dating from the 18th century, are two-storey buildings with an attic, constructed of brick and colourwashed. They feature a pantiled roof, an ogee bracket eaves cornice, and two dormers with glazing bars. There are six flush frame sash windows, also with glazing bars, and a pedimented doorcase that includes a six-panel door with fielded panels, accessed by steps and a wrought iron rail. The left side of the ground floor has a modern bay display window and a window above, which now forms part of the adjoining premises. A moulded floor band and a plinth are also present. Inside, the Council Chamber has hewn roof trusses and purlins. Nos 11 to 15 Market Hill are part of a group.
