Description
24 St Nicholas Street is a 16th to 17th century building that stands two stories tall with an attic. The gable faces west and features a casement window, with another casement window located below it on the first floor. The ground floor has a shop front with a wooden case supported by pilasters. On the south side, there are two casement windows on the first floor, and at the corner, there is a shop entrance with a doorcase that includes a pulvinate frieze. To the right, there is one ground floor sash window with only central glazing bars. The roof is steep and covered with pantiles. There is a wing extension to the north, which has a shallow pitched pantiled roof that reaches up to the original ridge. This extension has a mainly blank return with modern doors leading to two entrances, and a central casement window on each floor, along with a dormer lantern. The building occupies an important position.
