Description

Primrose Farmhouse is a 16th and 17th century farmhouse, originally timber-framed and partly re-faced with brick. One gable-end is constructed of brick and flint, butted against a lower side extension, which may be of earlier origin. The farmhouse is two storeys high. It features 19th-century 3-light mullion and transom windows. A gable-end stack is present, along with a later axial stack to the main block. The side extension has a shallow-pitched roof, likely dating to the 18th century. Within the main block, there are jowled wall-posts, large arch-braces and a double ogee-moulded beam. The side extension contains 16th century roll-moulded beams, possibly re-used. The site is a moated one.
