Description
The Church of All Saints is a parish church dating from the 15th century. Its upper part of the nave features alternating single courses of knapped flint and brick stretchers, while the rest of the structure is made of flint with ashlar and some brick dressings. The church has slate roofs and an aisleless nave, with a tower that also serves as a porch on the south side and a Victorian porch on the north.
The tower consists of four stages, supported by diagonal buttresses that feature chequered flushwork. It has a large entrance with four chamfered orders on semi-circular responds, two-light traceried bell-openings, and a crenellated parapet. The nave has seven three-light Perpendicular windows, while the east window and three two-light Perpendicular windows in the chancel are flamboyant Victorian designs.
Inside, there is a wave-moulded chancel arch on polygonal responds, and the chancel includes a piscina with a cusped arch, pierced spandrels, and a projecting carved bowl. The church retains original arch-braced roofs and features 15th-century doors with moulded cover-strips. Some 15th-century stained glass remains in the northeast nave window, and there is a 14th-century octagonal font with quatrefoils, along with a medieval parish chest.
