Description

Red House is a 17th to 18th century house located on Mill Road in Burston. The building features a timber frame that has been encased in brick during the 20th century. The east end of the house likely dates from the 18th century. It has a black glazed pantile roof with gabled ends and a large central brick chimney stack. The house is two storeys high and has 19th century casement windows. A modern brick porch has been added in front of the chimney stack, and there is a later lean-to extension at the rear. Inside, the west end includes a chamfered ceiling beam and chamfered joists.
