Description
35 and 37 Church Plain is a house dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is constructed of painted brick, with the rear plastered. The building features a steep pantile roof with a coped gable end, and the west end has a slightly lower pitch. It has two storeys and an attic.
On the first floor, there are five old casement windows with one, two, and three lights. The ground floor of No. 35 includes two small 20th-century shop windows, one of which is bowed, with a glazed door situated between them. No. 37 has a ground floor sash window with glazing bars and a simple plank door set in a segmental-headed opening. Additionally, No. 35 features a gabled dormer with a three-light casement. At the rear of No. 35, there is a large 20th-century flat roof wing.
