Description

Nos 1 and 2 on The Street are a pair of 17th century houses. No 1 is likely an early 17th century structure with a plastered timber frame and a steep pantile roof with gabled ends. It features a large brick chimney stack at the east end that is incorporated into No 2. The building has two storeys and an attic, with an attic window in the gable end facing the road. The windows are modern casements. At the rear, there is a north wing that is one storey and has an attic, also with a plastered timber frame, partly faced in brick, and a pantile roof with a shaped gable end in brick.

No 2, which is attached to the east of No 1, is probably a late 17th century building made of painted brick, also with a steep pantile roof and gabled ends. It has one storey and an attic, modern casements, a wide modern attic dormer, and a modern glazed door. There is a large brick chimney stack at the west end where it joins No 1. Additionally, there is a one storey gabled wing at the east end and a small modern brick wing at the rear.
