Description

The Old Rectory is a 17th-century timber-frame house, originally plastered, with a thatched roof featuring gabled ends. The house is two storeys high with an attic, visible through windows in the gable. Around the early 19th century, it was fitted with 3-light casement windows with glazing bars. A late 19th-century gabled porch was added, and a brick chimney stack features diagonally set shafts. A timber-frame wing extends to the north, with a lower thatched roof; this wing was undergoing restoration in 1977. A modern wing constructed of concrete blocks is set at right angles to the north wing.
