Description
Queen Margaret Cottage is a farmhouse that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the late 16th century and has undergone later alterations. The building features a rendered timber frame that has been re-faced with brick on the front and sides, and it has a thatched roof. It is two storeys high and has been re-faced in the 18th century or early 19th century, showcasing three-light windows with metal casements and horizontal glazing bars. The ground floor windows are set beneath segmental arches. There is a later gabled porch and extensions added to the rear. The cottage has one off-centre axial stack and one later gable-end stack. Inside, there are remains of one queen post truss to the west of the stack, and a large bridging joist with broach chamfer stops.
