Description
Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century and later. It has a timber frame that is mainly faced with colour-washed brick and features black pantiled roofs. The original structure consists of two bays to the south of an off-centre axial stack, with a 17th-century addition to the north of the stack and a late 17th or 18th-century bay added to the south. There is also a low side addition that is likely from the 18th century. The building has two storeys and displays irregular fenestration from the 19th and 20th centuries, including some three-light windows with metal casements and horizontal glazing bars. The ground floor windows are set beneath segmental arches. Inside, there is a winding stair beside the stack. The two bays to the south of the stack are late 16th century, with the first floor originally open to a queen post roof, of which the cambered arch braced ties and queen post mortices remain. The other roofs are of the butt-purlin type with collars.
