Description
The building is a former threshing barn and attached outbuildings located immediately north of Forsters Farmhouse, dating from the early 17th century. It features a timber frame that is clad in tarred weatherboarding, set on a brick plinth. The roofs are steeply pitched, covered with pantiles and corrugated iron sheets, and the roof is hipped at the north-east angle. The structure is L-shaped in plan, with the barn aligned east-west. It has three bays and double doors that are off-centre in the south wall, along with a stable door at the south-west corner. A first floor has been inserted at the west end. Inside, there are arch-braced tie beams supported by jowled principal posts. The roof includes clasped upper and butted lower purlins, with windbraces to the upper purlin. The lower range to the east consists of four structural bays, featuring arch-braced tie beams on jowled posts and corner braces to the wall studs. The roof structure has undergone significant repairs and replacements.
