Description
The Old Hall Barn is a structure dating from 1666, as indicated by large framed brick characters on the street-facing side. It is built of brick and features a pantiled roof. The barn has two large doorways on its facade and crow-stepped gables adorned with elaborate moulded brick gable corbels. The initials I.S. and E.B. are formed by tie-ends on the south side. There are vertical ventilation slits with raised borders. Inside, the barn has a 12-bay roof made up of collared principal rafters alternating with arch-braced ties. The timber used is of light scantling and shows many repairs.
