Description

This is an 18th-century malthouse, originally a farmhouse. It is constructed of colour-washed brick with a pantiled roof, and has an L-shaped layout. The front facade is asymmetrical, with five bays containing modern mullion and transom windows set within original openings. The ground floor windows have cambered arches. A front door is positioned off-centre, with a doorcase featuring a modillioned pediment, a pulvinated frieze, and an eaved architrave. Remnants of a similar doorcase are visible on the south facade. Architectural details include a simple plat-band and shaped eaves sprockets. The roof is hipped, with a central axial stack.
