Description
North Lodge, located on The Street in Brooke, is a Grade II listed building dating from around 1830. This Tudor-style lodge, which served as an entrance to the now-demolished Brooke Hall, features a combination of brick and half-timbering with a thatched roof. The building has a two-cell plan and includes a 20th-century extension at the rear.
The facade consists of three bays and is a single storey high. It has casement windows with hexagonal leaded panes. The central entrance features a plank and muntin door with a four-centred arch, flanked by two cross-casements. A prominent full-height gabled half-timbered porch projects over the door, supported by two columns on brick plinths. Above, there is a three-light oriel window with a tiled roof, adorned with a carved barge board and a drop finial. The building also has a central axial stack with two rebuilt lozenge-shaped shafts and a canted oriel window on the left gable wall, which has a two-light casement above it.
