Description

Valley Farmhouse is a 16th century building with later additions. It features a plastered timber-frame construction and a brick plinth, topped with a steep pantile roof that has gabled ends. The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic, with two widely spaced windows that are mullion/transom casements, likely from the 18th century, and fitted with leaded panes. A central gabled porch from the 19th century has shaped bargeboards. The large central chimney stack is made of brick and has diagonal shafts.

Inside, there is a staircase that includes part of a 17th century balustrade with turned balusters. The west wing forms an L-shaped plan and is also timber-framed and plastered, featuring a red brick end with a stepped gable. This end has two oval and two rectangular blocked windows, along with a brick chimney stack that has diagonal shafts. The interior also showcases chamfered beams.
