Description
The Olde Messuage is a house that likely dates back to the 17th century. It features a timber frame that is partly faced with brick and has a glazed black pantile roof. The building has a three-cell plan and includes an 18th-century brick range that is positioned at right angles to the rear. The facade consists of three bays and has two storeys. There is a 19th or 20th-century brick doorway with a four-centred arch located in the left-hand bay, and a gabled porch from the same period in the centre bay. The corners of the building are accentuated with brick pilasters. A central axial stack made of 17th-century brick has been repaired in the 19th century. The right-hand gable wall is partly clad in brick, and there is a lower two-storey range at the rear. Access to the property is limited.
