Description
Tindall Hall is a farmhouse that underwent remodelling in the 18th century, originally built in the 17th century. It features colourwashed brick, with a crosswing that is partly rendered. The building has steeply pitched roofs covered with black-glazed pantiles and is L-shaped, standing two storeys high with attics.
The west elevation consists of three bays, showcasing 3 and 4-light casements with transoms. The ground floor openings are topped with segmental arches. The central entrance bay is flanked by plain brick pilasters and features a 6-panel door with glazed upper panels, surrounded by a simple door surround with half-round pilasters. There are two small casements in the outer bays next to the stacks. A plain corner pilaster is located at the north-west corner. The building has two gabled attic dormers, each with 3-light casements.
At the north end, there is a large gault brick axial stack with four diagonally-set linked shafts, while a red brick axial stack is situated to the south. The crosswing at the south-west includes a ground floor 4-light segmental headed window and a first-floor door flanked by slatted vents, along with two slatted attic vents in the west gable, which has a rendered gable apex. The eastern side features two projections, with the southern projection containing a part-cellar. The hipped roof has a brick dentil eaves course, and there is an external chimneystack on the south side.
