Description
44 Magdalen Street is a former building of unknown use that is now an office. Originally constructed in the 16th century, it was refaced in the mid-18th century and has undergone rebuilding and alterations in the 20th century. The building is made of red brick and has three storeys with five bays, featuring end pilasters. There is a central door that is accessed by five steps. On either side of the door, there are two Tuscan columns supporting a semi-circular arch, which has a keystone shaped like a female head. Above the doorway is a Venetian window. The building has 20th-century sash windows, a parapet, and a heavy stringcourse. The roof is not visible.
