Description
No 161 Mansfield Lane is a house dating from the early 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of flint and brick rubble, featuring red brick dressings, some of which have been renewed. The building has a pantiled roof and is designed in an L-plan. It has two storeys and an attic, with first-floor windows.
The street facade includes four-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, with moulded brick pediments above, although the right one has been reconstructed. There are smaller windows in the center, with the first-floor window also featuring a pediment. A 20th-century skylight is present in the roof. The left side wall has one pedimented casement window on each floor, showing traces of brick jambs from the original wider windows. The right side elevation has two gables facing Long John Hill. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
