Description
Nos. 146 and 148 Magdalen Street are shops. The street-facing range was refaced in the 19th century, while the rear ranges date from the 17th century. The front of the building is flint with brick quoins and dressings, arranged over three storeys with five irregularly spaced second-floor windows. It has late 19th-century shopfronts and sash windows with glazing bars to the first floor. The second floor has casement windows. A fascia cornice runs along the top. The rear of No. 148 is flint and brick, with a roof that is not visible. It features 20th-century doors in the centre and on the left side, alongside scattered windows, including one 17th-century four-light casement. A stepped brick cornice is also present. The rear of No. 146 has one blocked 17th-century casement window on its north wall. This building has group value as a well-preserved example of a historic street range.
