Description

These are two houses dating from the 17th century, built of flint rubble with brick quoins and gables. The street facade has been rendered and the roof is covered with pantiles. The houses are set at a right angle to the street line. They have two storeys and a semi-basement. Originally, the north facade was symmetrical, with a central pair of doors leading up steps. The right-hand door has since been replaced with a 20th-century casement window. Each house now has three 20th-century mullion and transome windows; the basement and ground floor windows have brick segmental arches. A 2-span roof runs parallel to the street. A late 19th/20th-century extension has been added to the right. The facade of No. 84 has two central mullion and transome windows and a door off-centre, providing direct access to the cellar.
