Description
St James' Works, also known as Jarrold's Printing Works, is a Grade I listed building that was originally a yarn mill and is now used as a factory and offices. It was constructed in 1839 by Richard Parkinson. The building is made of red brick and has five storeys, rising to six storeys at the western end. There are 20 windows on the fourth floor, and a semi-circular stair turret is located at the west end. The building features casement windows throughout, with a string course between the third and fourth floors. The windows below the string course are set in round-arched recesses. The structure has a parapet and a domed roof over the stair turret, which includes a lantern.
