Description
Chaumiere de L'Etoile is a cottage ornée built around 1800. It features knapped flint, brick, and stone dressings, topped with a hipped slate roof that has oversailing eaves. The building has three bays and two storeys, with the ground floor constructed of flint and the first floor of brick, complemented by a stone plinth and a first floor band. There is a central brick stack, and on each side, there are one-storey brick wings with embattled parapets and forward embattled two-window bays. All windows are Gothick arched headed, consisting of two lights made of timber, with Y mullions and slender glazing bars. The central first floor has an arched headed blind panel infilled with yellow brick or tile, which features a stone plaque bearing the name Chaumiere de L'Etoile. The central doorway is also Gothick headed, with a door that has Gothick treatment.
