Description
South Lodge is a cottage ornée located on the Cockley Cley Hall estate, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of knapped flint with keyed brick dressings and features both pantile and plain tile roofs. The building is single storey with a south-facing facade that has a central three-bay arrangement. This includes two-centred openings with 2-light mullion and transom casement windows on either side of a boarded door. The verandah is supported by four rustic columns and has a semi-conical roof. The bays of the verandah are flanked by 2-light casement windows set beneath segmental arches in the outshuts, which have catslide roofs. A similar design is found on the north gable-end, and there is a tall axial stack.
