Description

Nos. 1-5 St Giles Terrace are a group of early 19th-century terraced houses. They are built of white brick with a slate roof, and extend over two storeys plus a semi-basement. The central four bays project forward. Each house has a front door set within a double-order semi-circular brick arch, with a rubbed brick surround and a fanlight featuring rounded glazing bars. Sash windows with glazing bars are present throughout, each with a rubbed brick flat arch above. Pilasters define the central bays, and a string course runs along the first floor level. The building is topped by a parapet with a low-pitch pediment over the central bays. Simple cast-iron garden railings and gates front the property.
