Description
Part of the former Master's House at The Great Hospital, this building dates from the 15th century and later. It is located on the north side of the cloister and has been converted into flats. The structure features pointed flint and brick rubble with a pantile roof and stands two storeys high. The windows are scattered, including a wooden casement on the first floor with leaded lights. The ground floor has 5 and 6-light windows that showcase moulded mullions and transoms beneath chamfered and stopped lintels. To the left, there is a small Tudor-arched plank door with decorated spandrels, and to the right, a 6-panelled door. A 2-bay no-vaulted chamber on the right serves as a passage to the cloister. A 15th-century door has been blocked with red brick in the cloister. The interior was not inspected during the re-survey.
