Description

Nos. 3 and 4 on The Close are a pair of buildings dating from the 17th century, with 19th-century additions. They are constructed of red brick, with the two right-hand bays rendered, and feature a pantile roof. The buildings rise three storeys and consist of 11 bays. The 18th-century doors are located in the third bay from each end, adorned with plain pilasters, a fluted architrave, and a flat hood, along with rectangular fanlights. The windows throughout are mullion and transom style, and there is a brick stringcourse above the ground floor. A modillion cornice is present above the first floor. Inside, there are two staircases with turned balusters and panelled rooms on the ground and first floors.
