Description

No. 40 The Close is a 17th-century house constructed of flint with brick dressings and blockings. The building has two storeys and features scattered fenestration. The central door is framed by a simple surround and has a flat hood above it. There is a 19th-century sash window with glazing bars and plain reveals located above the door. To the right of the sash window, there is a small casement window, and at the extreme right, there is a stair casement window. Additionally, there is a single-storey lean-to structure on the right side of the house.
