Description
Nos. 11 and 13 Elm Hill is a Grade II listed building that was originally two houses and is now a shop. The shop dates from the early 18th century, with the east gable rebuilt in the 20th century. It features rendered brickwork and a pantile roof, standing two storeys high with four bays. The central doors are complemented by rectangular fanlights, and there are casement windows throughout with flat arches. At the rear of No. 11, there is a 15th-century brick-built pointed barrel vault undercroft that extends beneath the churchyard of St. Peter Hungate. The building is designated as Grade II due to the significance of the undercroft, which is part of an important group within the City Walls.
