Description
This is a terrace of six early 19th-century houses located on Rosary Road. The houses are built of red brick with hipped slate roofs and three brick ridge chimneys, which have been rebuilt. They have two storeys and a basement, with twelve first-floor windows. Each house has a panelled door, with an overlight containing glazing bars within a panelled reveal, positioned to the right and left of each pair. Decorative features include fluted pilasters supporting triglyph friezes on numbers 79, 81, and 87, and fluted doorcases with corner roundels on numbers 83 and 85. Number 89 has a late 19th-century projecting glazed porch. Most of the windows are sash windows with glazing bars, although number 81 has 20th-century top-hung casements, and number 89 has larger panes. The windows are all set under flat, gauged brick arches. The houses display paired modillion cornices on numbers 79, 81, and 83, and moulded fascia cornices on numbers 85, 87, and 89. A later 19th-century roof-light is present on number 89, as is a two-storey extension with a first-floor window over the passage arch.
