Description

The site of Hempton Priory, formerly known as the Ruins of Priory, is located approximately one hundred metres east of Dereham Road. This was a priory dedicated to Saints Mary and Stephen, established in 1135 by Roger de St. Martin. At the time of the Dissolution, four canons remained at the priory. The site features flint rubble foundations, but no other identifiable structures remain. It is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, County Number 94.
