Description
No 21 Tunn Street is a 17th-century building constructed of painted flint with brick dressings and ashlar quoins. It features a steep pantile roof with a coped gable end and has two storeys plus an attic, which includes a window in the gable end. The front has one sash window with glazing bars and a round-headed doorway topped with a semi-circular fanlight that has radial glazing bars. The door is modern and the architrave dates from the 19th century. There is a large brick chimney stack on the north end of the building, while the south end has a sash window on each floor. At the rear, facing Swan Street, there is a wing that is either 17th century or early 18th century, also made of flint with brick dressings and a steep pantile roof with a gabled end. This wing has two storeys, with a 19th-century casement window on the first floor and a ground floor sash window with glazing bars, along with a simple flush-panelled door. A large brick chimney stack is located at the junction with the main building.
