Description
The Women's Institute Cottage is an 18th-century building located on Quaker Lane in Fakenham. It is constructed of red brick and features a steep pantile roof with coped gable ends. The cottage has brick dentil eaves and is one storey high with an attic. There are three later flat-roofed dormers that contain casement windows. On the ground floor, there are two sash windows without glazing bars, each topped with flat brick arches. The doorway is off centre and is framed by fluted pilasters and an entablature with a cornice. Above the door is an arched fanlight with gothic glazing bars, leading to a modern door. To the left of the front, there is a modern single-storey flat-roofed wing that projects from the building.
