Description
Manor House Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 16th century and was remodeled in the early 19th century. It is constructed from flint with brick and stone dressings and has a five-cell plan. The facade features six bays and is two storeys high, although partly obscured by ivy. The windows are sash style with glazing bars.
There is a two-storey gabled porch added in the 19th century to the fourth bay, which has rusticated quoins. The porch contains double-leaved doors, each with three panels, and the centre panels are glazed. Above the doors is a curved fanlight with two radiating glazing bars and a rusticated head, along with a drip mould. A sash window on the first floor has a hood mould, and the gable features dentils.
Flanking the porch on the ground floor are two tripartite sash windows. There is also a single-storey rusticated brick porch at the second bay, which has decorative barge boards, and a door located in the sixth bay. The first floor has sash windows with timber lintels. The building includes 16th-century brick and some stone used for the quoins, as well as stone corbels and timber modillions at the eaves.
The house has an off-centre axial stack and a stack at the left-hand gable end. At the rear, there is a stone doorway with a four-centred arch. Inside, the ground floor rooms feature heavily chamfered wall, spine, and transverse beams, while the upper rooms have heavily chamfered beams and cambered tie beams.
