Description

Grove Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, constructed of gault brick with a slate roof. This two-storey, three-bay house was built for a gentleman farmer. It features two sash windows with glazing bars on the ground floor and three on the first floor, all set beneath slightly cambered rubbed brick arches. The central door is framed by two segmental rubbed brick arches and is a raised and fielded panel door with an upper half that is glazed and has a segmental head. A string course runs along the first floor, topped by a dentil cornice. The roof is hipped with a flattened center, and there are two central moulded gault brick stacks. The rear of the house is constructed of flint and red brick, while the side return is also brick.
