Description
A farmhouse, originally dating to the early to mid 17th century at the rear, with a front section built in the 17th century and altered in the mid 19th century. The house is constructed of red brick with a black glazed pantiled roof. The front facade is two storeys high and three bays wide, featuring two ground floor and three first floor sash windows with margin light glazing bars, set within rubbed brick flat arches. A central brick and pantiled gabled porch has a four-centred rubbed Gothic arch, a part-glazed door with margin lights, all dating to the mid 19th century. The ground floor has a plinth, the first floor a platband, and the eaves a inserted gault brick dentil cornice. The roof is steeply pitched with crow-stepped gables, end stacks, and north and south gables that have four blocked fire windows. A rear wing on the south return has a ground floor boarded door and a single 2-light casement window, while the first floor has two casement cross windows with leaded lights. The east gable has a flint plinth with brick dressings and one casement window to each floor; the ground floor window is 3-light with a brick triangular pedimented head, the first floor window is also 3-light with leaded panes, and the attic has a 2-light cross window with leaded panes, all with crow-stepped gable and stack. A set-back crow-stepped gable of a wing is visible at the angle of the house, featuring 19th-century details.
