Description

The Dairy is a c.1840 dairy building constructed of gault brick with a brown glazed pantile roof. It is a two-storey, three-bay facade with a rear outshut. The design is Tudor-Gothic in style. The facade features three ground-floor and three first-floor sash windows with glazing bars, each beneath a brick drip mould hood. Moulded kneelers and cornice are also present. The outshut has two sash windows with glazing bars and moulded brick eaves above wooden mouldings. A massive central brick stack rises from the rear eaves, with a stuccoed base and four octagonal shafts, three of which remain, featuring brick star pattern copings. The interior consists of simple rectangular rooms and shows no evidence of original built-in furniture. The dairy forms a group with Dairy Cottage and Dairy Farm House.
