Description

The Feathers Inn, on Market Street, dates to the early 17th century. It is a two-storey and attic building with a steep-pitched pantile roof, limewashed brick exterior, and three casement dormers. The first floor has two sash windows; one is a three-light window with glazing bars, and the other retains central glazing bars. A wooden Doric doorcase features fluted elliptical pilasters. Inside, the inn displays stopped ovolo-moulded beams. The building forms a group with Nos. 1 to 9, the odd numbers, and the former Girl’s School.
