Description

5 Market Street is a three-storey building dating from the early 20th century. It is constructed of red brick with a pitched pantile roof and projecting eaves. The upper floors feature a three-light casement window at second floor level, and two six-over-six sash windows with flat arches at first floor level. The ground floor has a projecting shop front of glazed wood, with a stall riser, mullions, small paned transom lights, a central entrance, and a fanlight. A projecting cornice and slated fascia are also present. The building is part of a group with numbers 1 to 9 Market Street (odd) and the Former Girl’s School.
