Description

These are two 18th-century buildings on the south side of Market Street. They are constructed of red brick with a pantiled hipped roof. The buildings are three stories high and feature two sash windows with glazing bars at the second floor, topped by gauged flat arches. A wide eaves soffit is present. A central, five-light bow sash window is located on the first floor. Projecting wooden shop fronts include pilasters and coupled entrances in the center, each with a fanlight. Nos 1 to 9 (odd) and the Former Girl’s School form a group.
