Description

Number 16 on Market Place is an early 19th-century building made of red brick, featuring wooden eaves and a hipped pantiled roof. It stands three stories tall and has two sash windows with glazing bars on each upper floor, along with a central blank recess instead of a window. The north and east fronts are similar in design. The shop fronts are made of wood and have enriched cornices, with a corner entrance that includes cast iron columns and an iron arch adorned with scroll ornamentation in the spandrels. This building is part of a group that includes numbers 13 to 22.
