Description
The Grosvenor Restaurant is a building located at 36 Market Place, likely dating from the 18th century. It is a three-storey structure with a rendered, lined, and painted exterior. The roof is covered with pantiles and features massive chimneys.
The building has a central splay bay window on both the first and second floors, flanked by one window on each side, all with rusticated jambs. The flanks of the building are also rusticated. A wooden triple bracket eaves cornice runs along the top. The windows are near flush frame sash windows with glazing bars.
On the ground floor, there is a small modern shop on the left, while the center (No 36) has twin splay bay windows with a central entrance. The right side features a part rusticated section and a plain shop front with a recessed entrance.
All the listed buildings on the north side of Market Place form a group.
