Description

London House, located approximately 120 meters south of Mill Leet, is a south-facing house dating from around 1700. It is constructed of brick and flint with pantiles. The building is one bay, double depth, and has two storeys plus an attic. To the east, there is a two-storey wing added in the 19th century.

The south facade features Flemish bond brickwork with colored headers, a shaped gable, and moulded platbands at the first floor, eaves level, and above the attic window. The ground floor has a double casement window with margin lights set under a skew back arch with a stone keystone, along with a blocked window to the left. The first floor includes a sash window, with rebuilt blocked openings to the left and right, and a tall attic window. The west return is made of coursed flint with a moulded brick cap to the plinth and varied fenestration, including a cross window on the ground floor and a raking roof dormer. There is a large stack on the right return and a lower two-storey 19th-century service wing to the east, also in brick and flint.

Inside, the north room features bar stopped hollow chamfered principal beams, and there is a sash window with glazing bars to the east. The open string dogleg staircase has wavy splat balusters and a ramped handrail. There is an attached warehouse to the north, which has no architectural interest.
